SEBI reminder: nominate or opt-out on all your MF folios
If your folios still don't have a nomination (or an explicit opt-out) on record, get it done — non-compliant folios can be frozen for redemption.
SEBI has once again reminded investors and RTAs about the nomination requirement on all mutual fund folios. Folios without either a valid nomination or a signed opt-out on record risk being restricted for redemption until the record is updated.
What to do this week
- Log in to your CAMS / KFintech account or the MFCentral portal.
- Check the nomination status on every folio (single and joint holdings).
- Add a nominee — or sign the opt-out — for each folio that shows "Not Registered".
Why this matters
Nominees make claim settlement dramatically faster for your family in case of any eventuality. It costs nothing to update and can save months of paperwork later.
